Learn Thai online with KruMae

Learn Thai online with KruMae

Are you traveling to Thailand in the near Future?...or even better-- are you planning to live in Thailand?

If you said "YES" to any questions above, you need to arm yourself with some basic Thai conversation skills.  The majority of Thai people DO NOT and I repeat--DO NOT speak English AT ALL.  Due to that we didn't have any foreign countries takeovers in the past, make us pretty slow at advancing our English and that has become a problem at the moment.

I have designed a course specifically to introduce this beautiful tonal language to students who are brand new to it.  The course will go over the simple survival phrases that you need to know and can be use in your Thailand trip.  We will go over numbers and the different bills and customs in Thailand that you need to be aware of when you come to Thailand.

Classes starts on Monday the 27th of May.  8.30 Thailand Time..so please do your time calculation carefully.

The whole class is 12 hrs.  Costing only $120 ($10/class)  The class will be roughly ten students.  If you want a smaller class or even private, please contact me individually.

Payments are accepted through PayPal.  Contact me for further instructions.

Learn Thai with a English Speaking Thai Native!

Are you new to Thailand?  If you are, you will need to know that very few people in Thailand speaks English.  Their English skill is very poor

Whether you are here for business or traveling, you will need to know some Thai to get by or at least get what you need during the trip.  It will make your trip here much more enjoyable.

My language skills in both Thai and English, are considered by others, comparable to native speakers in both countries

Not only I can teach you Thai (Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing) but I can properly communicate in English to you to explain the lessons or answer any questions you might have.

I currently reside in Thailand, so I will be able to give you tips and pointers on visas or places in Thailand.

I offer my service on Google+.  My skills are unique and my time is limited.  I charge 500 baht per hour in a 24 hr. course.  The frequency of the class is up to you.

The THAI Wai-ing!

Wai and its purpose!

Since, I already introduced to you the sawdee ka/krap, I figured I should introduce to you the actions needed when saying those things.  One thing that you will learn quickly about Thailand is that they are respectful to their elders and they show it.  Whether saying the ka/krap part or the actual wai itself.  Saying sawadee ka/krap without the wai is like taking a shower without using soap.  It goes hand in hand with each other.  As a foreigner, you are not expected to do the whole wai thing.  But I would suggest you to go for it.  Wai does not cost money and you gain many brownie points from you Thai co-workers, which will make your work life in Thailand MUCH MUCH EASIER!

There are many types of wai.  Here are the only ones that you should know and be able to recognized.  This wai form is used for saying hi/thank you/good bye to friends or just causally.  Notice, no one is bowing.  They just clasp their hand together and put it against their nose like this....

The one we are going to talk about next is super formal.  Its the wai that are used with adults, elders or people you respect.  THIS ONE, there's a bow down action going on.  Noticed, you will never ever have to do this to anyone if you are a foreigner.  However, if you become a teacher in any Thai school, your students will likely do this form to you every time they see you.
